A world reference in cast parts and machined steel solutions, Altona is bringing all the strength of its industrial structure, engineering innovation and commitment to sustainability to Metalurgia. During the fair, visitors will have the opportunity to get a closer look at the versatility of its production, which ranges from raw castings to completely finished parts, with precision machining, assembly and painting.
The company has two main production centers. The UPR – Repetitive Products Unit is dedicated to large-scale production of standardized parts. The USE – Custom Products Unit is focused on developing customized parts according to the specific needs of each client.
The company’s expertise in the production of cast and machined parts allows Altona to serve demanding segments such as mining, oil and gas, rail transportation, power generation, machinery and equipment, among others. Its differential lies in its ability to deliver complete solutions, including design, engineering, casting, machining, assembly and painting, all carried out in-house with total quality control.
This infrastructure is enhanced by a team of more than 1,500 qualified employees, who are continuously trained to handle cutting-edge technologies and meet the highest international standards. The company constantly invests in engineering, research and development, which allows it to act as a true innovation partner for its customers. With a consolidated international presence, Altona also has subsidiaries in Europe and North America.
SUSTAINABILITY COMBINED WITH THE PRODUCTION OF CAST PARTS
Altona is a company committed to sustainable practices, which integrate all stages of its production chain. The company has NBR ISO 14001 certification for its Environmental Management System (EMS), reflecting a continuous effort to minimize environmental impacts, control risks and promote improvements in the manufacturing processes of cast and machined parts.
Around 95% of the material that makes up the castings comes from qualified steel scrap, which contributes directly to the circular economy. Since 2024, 100% of the electricity used in the casting and machining processes has come from certified renewable sources (Engie-REC), drastically reducing the operation’s carbon footprint.
The efficient management of water resources relies on an internal network of meters, allowing water consumption to be monitored at all stages, from collection to treatment and distribution. The environmentally correct disposal of waste rounds off the actions. 88.32% of the waste generated is recycled and only 8.7% goes to industrial landfills, demonstrating a reuse rate above the sector average. In addition, Altona adopts ongoing energy efficiency plans, which include the replacement of old equipment with new, more efficient models and the intelligent use of energy in its industrial plant.
