Urussanga Minérios will be present at Metalurgia 2025, consolidating its position as a reference in the manufacturing and marketing of essential supplies for the foundry sector. With a portfolio that includes Coke for foundry, Cardiff (special coal powder) and Bentonite, the company stands out for the quality, efficiency and innovation of its products. It has four operational units: Urussanga-SC, responsible for the manufacturing of Coke for foundry and Cardiff; Bagé-RS, dedicated to the processing of UM-HP Bentonite; Melo, in Uruguay, where Bentonite is extracted; and Criciúma-SC, the administrative headquarters that manages operations and logistics. DIVERSIFIED INPUTS FOR FOUNDRY
Urussanga Minérios is dedicated to developing a diversified portfolio of inputs for different applications in the foundry process. Coke CF12 is an essential fuel in the iron melting process in cupola furnaces, offering resistance and efficiency. Its main advantages include high carbon content, resulting in efficient and controlled combustion, excellent mechanical resistance, reducing breakages and optimizing furnace performance, and reduced coke consumption, providing savings and greater energy efficiency.
Cardiff ACV&V is a special coal powder used in green sand systems, responsible for ensuring a superior finish to the cast parts. Its differentials include high vitreous carbon content, providing better performance in reducing surface defects, high volatile content, reducing sand inclusions and improving the quality of the parts, and less need for adding coal powder to the molding system, optimizing costs and processes.
Bentonite UM-HP completes the portfolio of inputs, providing efficiency to the molding process. Produced from selected raw materials, this imported bentonite has high thermal stability, essential for highly demanding casting processes, resistance to high temperatures, ensuring greater efficiency and lower consumption, and reducing waste, allowing the need to add the input to the process to be reduced by up to 50%.
