Metalurgia 2006 gathered more than 16,000
Metalurgia 2006 gathered more than 16,000 people at the Megacentro Wittich Freitag pavilion during the International Fair and Congress of Technology for Foundry, Steelmaking, Forging, Aluminum, and Services. The result was the generation of approximately R$ 180 million in business, which should be consolidated within a year after the event. Metalurgia 2006 brought together around 300 companies from each segment of the foundry industry's production chain - including exhibitors from countries such as England, Canada, USA, and China.
For exhibitors, the balance was positive. "The fair this year was exceptional, and we are proud to be a part of it. We had a very good visitation from our customers outside the region, and the business prospecting was also very good," highlighted André Luiz Wetzel, Vice President Director of Wetzel S/A. "We came only to showcase our product and have already sold approximately R$ 1.7 million in machines," said Sylton Harb, National Sales Manager of Taurus Máquinas Ltda, which participated in the fair for the first time and presented the first High-Speed machine 100% manufactured in Brazil, for use in die-casting.
The quality of the audience - technical, focused on the sector - was also highlighted by exhibitors: "We had a more intense visitation focused on business. We are very optimistic," says Cláudio Bell, Director of Hunter Space. "Metalurgia is an opportunity to meet national and Mercosur clients. The event's level is excellent," says Simone Terezinha Vick da Silva, Administrative Director of Materials.
Metalurgia's success anticipates contract renewal
The exhibition brings together 23 thousand visitors from 19 countries and 14 Brazilian states, with emphasis on professionals from the foundry and automotive segments.
Metalurgia 2010, held from September 14 to 17, in the two pavilions of Expoville, in Joinville/SC, bringing together 450 exhibitors, has already had almost all of its spaces renewed for 2012, due to requests for reservation/renewal of spaces from current exhibitors, including requests for expansion of areas, and new exhibitors interested in participating. To accommodate this demand, Messe Brasil, the event organizer, is already evaluating an alternative space to host a possible expansion of the event. “The two pavilions are already 100% occupied and to guarantee this growth, we need to expand our physical structure through temporary or permanent alternatives”, comments Richard Spirandelli, Messe Brasil's marketing manager.
The fair received 23,000 visitors, 15% more than in 2008, from 19 countries and 14 Brazilian states, with a greater representation of the foundry and automotive segments, as well as engineering, electronics, electrical and electronics, home appliances, services, among others. The main percentage of visitors, 39%, were decision-makers from organizations, 18% from the research area and 12% from planning. The main areas of interest of visitors are raw materials, machinery, equipment, inputs, castings, environment, modeling, tooling and projects.

Metalurgia and Powergrid Brasil pointed to a promising scenario in the coming years
Trade fairs received around 21 thousand visitors from September 16 to 19
Santa Catarina stands out in the national production of castings, according to Abifa (Brazilian Foundry Industry Association). The state represents 80% of the production in the South region and 27% of the national production. This justifies the holding of the Metalurgia trade fair (the largest event in the segment held in Brazil in even-numbered years) in Joinville/SC. And since energy efficiency is one of the main objectives of companies seeking to save money and increase competitiveness, the Powergrid trade fair was held jointly, from September 16 to 19.
During the four days of the event, around 21 thousand people from 17 countries (Germany, Argentina, Austria, Brazil, Chile, China, Colombia, Ecuador, Spain, USA, India, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, United Kingdom, Turkey and Venezuela) visited the Expoville Pavilions, the majority of whom (56%) work in the foundry, automotive, engineering and energy sectors.
