Metalurgia 2025 welcomes 15,000 visitors and ends on a positive note

Closing on Friday (10), Metalurgia 2025 – International Technology Fair and Congress for Foundry, Steel, Forging, Aluminum and Services, held at the Expoville Convention and Exhibition Center in Joinville (SC), once again confirmed its relevance as one of the main events in the foundry sector in Latin America.

Over four days, the event brought together more than 240 exhibitors and attracted around 15,000 qualified visitors, including businesspeople, engineers, technicians and specialists from all over the country and abroad. The expectation of business during the fair and over the next 12 months reaches R$ 420 million.

The survey carried out by the organization shows that visitors came from 18 Brazilian states and 17 countries, with the largest volume from South America, mainly Argentina, Bolivia and Chile. 25% of the visitors were in final decision-making positions and 50% of the public visited Metalurgia for the first time. “The figures show the qualification and renewal of the public, reflecting the expansion of promotion, the growth of the fair and the market’s demand for technology, innovation and knowledge,” comments Richard Spirandelli, director of Messe Brasil.

Around 80% of exhibitors presented product and service launches or innovations at the fair. On the other hand, 32% of visitors consider Metalurgia to be the market’s main platform for networking, professional updating, access to technology and suppliers.

“The 13th Metalurgia 2025 showed the strength and capacity for innovation of the national foundry sector, which continues to invest in technology, productivity and sustainability. It was an edition marked by strategic connections, knowledge and concrete business opportunities,” said Spirandelli.

Sustainability also had a place during the event through the waste management carried out by the event organizers in partnership with a local entity to separate and properly dispose of materials.

POSITIVE EVALUATION OF EXHIBITORS

With launches of machinery, equipment, supplies and digital solutions, the fair presented the trends that are shaping the future of foundries. The presence of international companies and suppliers from the entire chain, including foundries, mould makers, inputs, software, metrology solutions and specialized services, reinforced the technical and global nature of the event and resulted in a positive atmosphere among exhibitors.

Fred Ziegler, managing director of Ztech, says that he has participated in Metalurgia since its first edition. In 2025, the company exhibited special concrete parts with colloidal mullite nanotechnology, an exclusive technology that offers excellent resistance to thermal shocks, thermal fatigue, abrasion and mechanical impact, and has been supplied to the national and international markets. “I was surprised by the fair. From the first day, it was well attended, with a large number of classified visitors interested in acquiring new solutions,” he says.

Machine supplier Selltis took part in the fair for the first time, where it presented its new tank treatment line, a sustainable solution for cleaning machine waste. “The event makes it possible to connect with customers and interact with a very focused audience in the foundry area, allowing the industry and suppliers to work together and connect ideas and solutions,” believes André Vecchi, from Selltis Máquinas Netzcraft’s technical salesman, Jacson Voit, was also surprised by the results and the audience he received at the stand, coming from various regions of Brazil. “We got a lot of quotes and closed deals that were already in progress. The audience at Metalurgia was well qualified and focused on finding new technologies,” he says.

Katherine Ignácio, Thatho’s coordinator, says that she used the stand to promote the brand and expand its presence in the market by supplying solutions in non-ferrous metals and chemical products for various sectors. “The turnover of customers at the stand was high every day and we received new contacts from all regions of Brazil, which surprised us a lot,” he says.

Steven Gou, director of the Chinese company Mintura, recalls that it has been operating in the Brazilian market for 30 years and the fair offers prospects for growth in the Brazilian market. “Joinville is strategically located as it concentrates an important foundry hub and facilitates the development of the South American market,” he said.

Vick exhibited the largest piece ever blown in sand in Latin America, with a mold weighing almost 300kg. “It’s an innovative product with a distinctive surface finish that can be applied to smaller or similar parts. At the fair, we saw an audience focused on innovation and solving problems in their industries, which brought us excellent results,” says Anderson Tadeu Fürbringer, Vick’s technical and commercial director.

BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES

The Metallurgy 2025 Business Roundtable provided a strategic environment for partnerships and business relations. The format brought together suppliers and buyers from the production chain, generating connections that should develop into new business relationships after the event. The round was attended by 65 companies and 420 meetings were held.

Bruna Aguiar Lopes, from Grupo Trust, says that she works in the market providing services related to foreign trade. “Metallurgy is strategic for our positioning in the market, especially in southern Brazil. Our aim at the round was to expand our proximity and partnerships with companies in this sector,” he said.

Douglas Dias Tavares, from Indústrias Romi, says that he met partners, technologies and solutions. “The round is a storehouse of opportunities and we’re pleased with the quality of the event, the exchange of information and the possible business deals,” he says.

TECHNICAL PROGRAMMING AND DEBATE ON THE FUTURE OF FOUNDRY

Metalurgia hosted Cintec Fundição – Innovation and Technology Congress. With the aim of presenting trends and solutions to foundry challenges, the programme included technical talks on process optimization and the use of artificial intelligence applied to the industry.

Fernando Oliveira, CEO of the Dr. Fundição platform, was responsible for organizing the congress, which brought together around 60 professionals from the foundry sector. “The event brought up-to-date themes from the day-to-day running of industries and solutions to improve process techniques and increase performance,” he emphasizes.

Fernando Hess Rodrigues, from Hess&Blanco Consultoria, gave a presentation on evaluating special casting processes with a focus on the automotive sector, in order to meet the automakers’ requirements. “As well as bringing a topical subject to the event, I would highlight the high technical level of the program and the audience,” he says.

Guilherme Pauli, a foundry professional at WEG, was interested in the event because of the technical content and topics related to the day-to-day running of the segment. “It was a rich moment for exchanging ideas, with a focus on improving processes and learning about new technologies to improve product quality,” he says.

EXHIBITOR WORKSHOPS

The Exhibitor Workshops program, with topics related to technologies and innovations in the sector, rounded off the technical program with 30 talks.

ZTech’s Research and Development Director, Fernando Valenzuela, gave a presentation on the advantages of the company’s refractory materials. “We showed the materials, how important they are for the sector and how they can impact on profitability through cost reduction and their impact on organizational safety. This interaction that the workshops allow between exhibitors and the public is essential,” he says.

Elkem’s sales director, Osvaldo Almeida, in his presentation, reinforced the company’s position as a leading foundry in the supply of advanced silicon-based materials and the applications of these materials. “This opportunity to interact adds value to the business. It’s different from reading an article or a publication. Face-to-face contact and a simpler presentation make the potential of the products and the company clear,” he explains.

Alexandre Verona, from Tykhe Import, was on the other side watching the case presented by Trust Goup on steel imports. “I already work with imports from other segments and I want to enter the steel import market. It was an opportunity to follow the entire import process step-by-step,” he said.

NEXT EDITION IN 2027

With significant results and positive feedback, the organization has already confirmed the next edition of Metalurgia for 2027, again in Joinville, promising an even bigger and more innovative fair.
