With exclusive technology, integrated logistics infrastructure and environmental commitment, the Unimetal Group highlights in Metalurgia its complete portfolio of industrial carbon, including Desulco®, a premium recarburant produced in Brazil. With more than 50 years of international operations and a consolidated reputation as one of the largest global players in industrial carbon solutions, the company offers a complete portfolio of products and services that go beyond raw materials, delivering innovation, technical performance, integrated logistics and environmental sustainability.
The industrial carbon product portfolio includes Calcined Petroleum Coke, Green Petroleum Coke and a number of specialties for the steel, foundry, aluminum, refractories, energy and other sectors. Another highlight is the launch of Desulco®, a premium fuel recarburant recognized worldwide for its purity and efficiency, now produced in Brazil with Superior Graphite technology, incorporated by the Unimetal Group in 2024.
Produced with continuous graphitization technology acquired from the North American company Superior Graphite, Desulco® is a premium solution for those looking for very high purity of fixed carbon, with very low sulfur and nitrogen contents. The premium fuel ensures higher metallurgical performance, better carbon recovery, less slag formation and cleaner and more efficient performance in foundry and steel processes.
PREMIUM REFUELANT MANUFACTURED IN BRAZIL
Now, the premium fuel is now manufactured on Brazilian soil, at the Unimetal Group’s unit in Sorocaba (SP), reinforcing the company’s position as a strategic supplier to the national and Latin American markets. In addition to local production, Desulco® is made available with strict quality control per batch, guaranteed by the company’s own laboratories, which perform physical-chemical and petrographic analyses according to the highest standards.
This new phase in the production of Desulco® premium fuel is also in line with the Group’s commitment to the technical customization of solutions, translated into the development of new customized carbon blends, capable of improving metallurgical performance according to the specific requirements of each customer.
The Unimetal Group positions itself as a strategic partner of the industry, combining proprietary technology, robust logistics infrastructure, global presence and a business model guided by quality and socio-environmental responsibility. In carbon processing, the company has mastered techniques such as continuous graphitization, calcination in shaft and rotary kilns, as well as milling, drying, screening and controlled blending, which allow it to offer tailor-made specifications and consistent quality in large volumes.
These operations are supported by our own laboratories, which ensure the excellence of the products at each stage and guarantee technical deliveries in line with the most demanding international standards. In the logistics part, the group has Carbolog, its own company specialized in the transportation of bulk solids, operating in a multimodal way, with its own fleet and road and rail integration, ensuring agility, traceability and safety in deliveries. This differential becomes even more strategic when the customer depends on regularity and speed in a sector where production downtime is expensive.
