Pyrotek presents Innovative Solutions for Aluminum Casting and announces National Production of the Exclusive RFM®

During its participation in the Metalurgia Fair, Pyrotek reaffirmed its commitment to the aluminum casting industry by presenting a complete portfolio of products and technical solutions aimed at optimizing processes, increasing productivity and reducing operating costs. With global experience and a consolidated presence in Brazil, the company stands out for offering exclusive technologies, specialized technical support and the start of domestic production of RFM® (Reinforced Fibreglass Material), a high-performance compound that promises to transform the way molten aluminum is handled in Brazilian foundries.

Pyrotek’s set of solutions is designed to meet the foundry sector’s main needs, such as temperature control, metal purity, component durability, safety when handling molten aluminum and sustainability. High-performance refractories are indicated for melting furnace linings and liquid aluminum maintenance, with high resistance to thermal cycles and abrasion.

Cleaning fluxes and additives are developed to remove impurities and improve metallurgical quality, reducing slag and inclusions. Graphite technical parts, such as impellers, shafts and degassing tubes, guarantee resistance to oxidation and a long service life. Liquid metal transfer pumps provide safe and controlled movement of molten aluminum.

Thermocouples and protection tubes are essential for precise measurements in extreme environments, with a focus on durability and reliability. Ceramic filters and filtration systems remove non-metallic inclusions, improving the mechanical properties of the final parts. Refractory paints for molds and pans increase thermal insulation and protect surfaces against thermal and chemical wear. In addition to all this, the company offers industrial oven refurbishment services, with specialized technical staff and solutions that extend the useful life of the equipment, increasing energy efficiency.

INNOVATIONS FOR ALUMINUM CASTINGS

RFM® (Reinforced Fibreglass Material) is not a new product on the world market, where it is already widely approved and successfully used by foundries in several countries. However, the big news that Pyrotek is presenting at Metalurgia 2025 is the start of production of this material in Brazil. This is an exclusive composite, developed by Pyrotek, which combines fiberglass fabrics with a refractory matrix that is highly resistant to thermal shock and chemically inert to molten aluminum. Its main applications include pouring chutes, sampling spoons, diffusers, ladles and thermocouple protection tubes.

Producing RFM® in Brazil brings concrete benefits to the aluminium casting market, such as shorter delivery times with greater immediate availability of parts on demand, lower logistics costs, greater agility in development and technical support with trained local engineers and maintenance of international quality with all the standards of excellence already recognized globally.

In addition to its lightness and strength, RFM® offers superior thermal insulation and reduces slag formation, which results in longer component life and lower operating costs throughout the product’s life cycle.

Pyrotek is in line with demands for more sustainable industrial processes. The initiatives enable energy efficiency and emissions reduction with the MCS-V (Metal Casting System – Vacuum) system, which saves energy and reduces the use of compressed air in casting processes. The use of renewable energy at the international units, such as the one in Blansko (Czech Republic), which already operates with 100% clean energy and plans to install its own solar plant, is another highlight. Finally, the reduction of waste through the use of Rigid Glasweve® (RGW) ceramic filters increases efficiency and reduces losses in the liquid metal filtration process.

In Brazil, the domestic production of RFM® reinforces this commitment, offering a lighter, more durable and energy-efficient alternative, helping to reduce the environmental impact on foundries.
