In Metalurgia, JPHE is bringing a technological innovation to the Brazilian market that brings greater safety to liquid metal pouring operations. Dedicated exclusively to the manufacture of ladles for pouring and treating metal, the new concept of the in-jet pouring and inoculation system is fully automated and controlled by remote supervision. This is a significant leap towards Industry 4.0, with which JPHE is optimizing the process and redefining the role of the foundry operator.
The innovation stems from a simple and challenging observation. For decades, the process of pouring liquid metal has been one of the most sensitive and risky stages in the foundry, traditionally carried out manually, under the strong influence of the operator’s skill and attention. This model, in addition to offering high operational risks, also depends on a highly specialized workforce, which is increasingly scarce in a scenario of digital transformation.
With the new system, JPHE is proposing to take the operational function of the pourer out of the hands of man and transfer it to an intelligent control system, operated remotely and fully integrated with industrial supervision platforms. This means more safety, more precision and a process repeatability previously unattainable by conventional methods.
AUTOMATION FOR LEAKING LIQUID METAL
The technology developed by JPHE is a pioneer in Brazil. It is a complete system that combines automated pouring and in-jet inoculation with total control via remote supervision. The innovation allows the process to be monitored in real time, with fine adjustments made with digital precision, guaranteeing the quality of the final product and operational stability even in demanding production environments.
The inoculant is applied directly to the liquid metal stream in a controlled manner, ensuring uniform and effective distribution. This method reduces losses, significantly improves the properties of the molten metal and eliminates the variations typical of the manual process. Remote control of the system is a game changer. As well as reducing the exposure of operators to high-risk environments, it enables detailed analysis, predictive diagnostics and integration with ERP and MES systems, consolidating the foundry as an increasingly technological link in the industrial value chain.
