The 2025 edition of CINTEC Fundição – Congress of Innovation and Technology in Foundry, held during Metalurgia – International Fair and Congress of Technology for Foundry, Steel, Forging, Aluminum and Services, brings together specialists, researchers and companies, on October 8, in Joinville (SC).
With the aim of presenting trends and solutions to the challenges of foundry, the congress program includes technical lectures that address process optimization and the use of artificial intelligence applied to the industry. The opening of the event will be made by the director of Doutor Fundição, Fernando Oliveira, with a presentation of the event’s activities. The first lecture with Camille Lemos, will deal with the optimization, via numerical simulation, of the contact area between massalote and part for the elimination of porosity in casting. Next, Ricardo Fuoco will talk about the most important casting defects in the production of automotive wheels in aluminum alloys (A356).
The theme of cast irons will be highlighted by Vinícius Paz, who will address the study of the formation of gas bubbles with slag in castings, by the effect of the balancing of manganese (Mn) and sulfur (S), in gray cast irons. Ricardo Fuoco returns to the stage to discuss the production of castings in impact-resistant steels, highlighting the processes and heat treatments necessary to achieve maximum durability.
Leandro Consul will present two topics focused on steel casting: applications of the AOD converter in steel casting in practice and crack formation in cast steel parts in casting. The program continues with André Pereira, who will expose the optimization of the Cold-Box process for modern molding sands. Vinícius Paz returns to the program with a presentation on the formation of drosses in nodular cast iron in the practice of casting and applications.
Quality control will also have space with Fernando Hess Rodrigues, who will discuss the evaluation of casting processes, heat treatments and welding using CQI’s (Continuous Quality Improvement – Special Process Assessment). Tadeu Nascimento de Oliveira presents the study of variables in the riserless method in nodular cast iron.
Closing the program, Eitan Melleras will address artificial intelligence applied to the casting process, showing how algorithms and intelligent systems can support decisions and increase productivity, within the concept of Casting 4.0.
CINTEC Fundição will be a meeting point for networking and knowledge between professionals, academics and companies in the sector. The initiative reinforces Metalurgia’s proposal to integrate networking, business, technology and knowledge in a single environment.
